| Hi T&F Lovers and Friends;
A lot of things have happened since the 19th Deaflympics in Rome. The September 11 incident has changed and touched everyone of us in many ways. I am glad to see that, in the bright side, our beloved nation has awakened and became more united and stronger than ever, perhaps. We have every right to be mighty proud of our country - USA!!! New USADSF Board members have been re-elected and elected.. Tiffany Granfors and Wayne Langbein went to Cleveland last month to take part in USADSF Conference. We are glad to see Jack Lamberton takes over Sam Sonnenstrahl's post as VP for International Affairs. We look forward to working with him for next 4 years. Congratulations to all other members as well. Speaking of new members, Tiffany, Wayne and I are now in our last year of the 1st 4 year term. By summer, we will have a vote on new officers. We are still interested to stay for 2nd term. However, anyone who is interested in any of 3 positions - President, Secretary or Treasurer should e mail Tiffany at TSGranfors@msn.com. We may be conducting a voting process via mail and/or e mail. USADTF is seeking for more interested people to work with
the organization. These are the positions we hope to fill in near
future. We cannot emphasize enough on the need of more volunteers. Please contact
us for further information.:
- Membership coordinator
- 2003 Trials Chairperson
- Awards Chairperson
- editor for e-DTFNL
- Grant writer
- Youth program Chairperson
- Cross Country Chairperson
Last week, November 27th through December 1st, Willy (our Male Athlete of Year), Karen Sanfacon (Deaflympic LD Coach) and I attended the 21st USATF Conference in Mobile, Alabama. It was very productive and successful trip. USADTF and USATF are gearing toward a better and stronger relationship. To show that we are heading that way, USATF has passed into their National CC policy that we are invited to compete in CC. More information will be in the Special USADTF/USATF e-newsletter. Happy Holidays! Thomas Withrow
