USA/Deaflympic Head Coach Sought.
Within a few weeks, you will see advertisement for those of you who may be interested in applying for the Head Coach position. Also, information on 2004 USADTF Trials is forthcoming. |

USADTF learned that one of our coaches, Nancy Benton, 1997 and 2001 Deaflympic specialty coach and 2000 Youth PANAMDES coach, of Maryland, was down with cancer and is currently going through chemotherapy. USADTF wishes Nancy speedy recovery. On behalf of all coaches and athletes, USADTF sent a bouquet and goodies to her. She appreciated it greatly. We will keep her in our prayers and thoughts. |

USATF Coaching Level I and II School
USADTF received grant money and we are set to host a USATF Coaching Level I school this year. Also, we are seeking coaches who have completed Level I course and are interested to take Level II school this summer in North Carolina. Please contact Tiffany Granfors ASAP at tsgranfors@comcast.net |

USADTF goes National Conference
for 5th straight year!
USADTF sends Tiffany Granfors and Wayne Langbein to USATF Conference in Kamsas City, Missouri from December 5th through 8th. USADTF and USATF are continuing to develop stronger relationship and to gear toward betterment for our Deaf coaches and athletes. We aim to gain contacts with main personnel and to establish direct contact with USATF and separate ourselves from Disability Group. For more information, click here. |

The 2002 Art Kruger Memorial Award
During the USADSF House of Delegates Conference in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USADTF President was awarded the Art Kruger Memorial Award for his service on several international teams. USADTF Seminar a BIG Success!!
On November 2nd, USADTF invited selected 14 individuals to its first seminar at Gallaudet University. A few out of town people were unable to attend. The purpose of the seminar is to work toward betterment of our Track and Field programs. We concluded the day with a great feeling and hope. We hope to have another one next year with more participants. |

USATF Association Conference Invites USADTF
For the first time ever, USATF invited USADTF to participate in all important Association Conference last August in Indianapolis. An audicence of 140+ representatives from 57 associations were in attendance to listen to what USADTF was all about. Tiffany and Wayne used powerpoint and CD-rom to talk about programs of ours and Deaflympics. It marked a giant step to ever-continuing process of working with USATF. We hope to continue establishing connections with USATF and its assocaitions and to reach out to more Deaf athletes/coaches. |

Montreal!

USA Team of 8 Athletes Brought
Back 35 Medals!
Fabulous 8 athletes were selected from 3 FTFG sites - Indiana School for the Deaf; Maryland School for the Deaf; and Texas School for the Deaf. Each school made recommendations based on athletes' performance on the FTFG day, character AND academic throughout the year. They went to 2nd Youth PanAmDES in Barquisomento, Venezuela last August. 2002 Family Track and Field Games
- A BIG Success!
USADTF wishes to thank 3 schools for the Deaf for their successful hostship of FTFG last June. Those 4 schools were California School for the Deaf-Fremont, Indiana School for the Deaf, Maryland School for the Deaf and Texas School for the Deaf. The FTFG meets have helped created the most successful USA Youth PANAMDES Team. More on this somewhere else in this e-DTFNL. |
