The Art Kruger Award
Thomas Withrow

The Art Kruger award is presented to an individual who has given long-time service to USA Deaf Sports Federation.

It is with great pleasure that I (Jack Lamberton) present this award to Thomas Withrow, who has contributed immeasurably to the advancement of Track and Field efforts in the United States.

· Tom was an athlete/coach at the 1997 Deaflympics in Denmark.
· He was the USADSF Track team leader for the 1999 PanAmDes in Havana, Cuba.
· He has been President of USADTF since 1998.
· Tom continues to serve as the USADSF representative to USATF.
· He coordinated all fundraising activities for the Track team for both the 1997 (Denmark) and 2001 (Italy) Deaflympics, and also coordinated efforts to obtain equipment for our athletes.
· Most recently, he has been instrumental in the growth of Family Track & Field Games in the United States.

Tom, on behalf of the USA Deaf Sports Federation, thank you so much for all your hard work and determination to help deaf athletes succeed.  You are very much appreciated!

It was a great honor to receive the award.  But, I cannot take all credit for what USADTF has became the last 5 years.  Without my right and left hands out of Wayne Langbein and Tiffany Granfors, I would have never gotten the recognition.  We three work together.  Also, many thanks to other people who helped with successes such as Sharon Boyer, Jesse Bailey, Mike Paulone, Dan Fitzpatrick, Nancy Benton, just to name a few.  Thanks.

Thomas Withrow, President
USA Deaf Track and Field
